prairie

Have you ever been to an event and noticed someone knitting? That was most likely our prairie. She says that she has spent her entire life dealing with line, twine, string, yarn and rope. Rope has always been her primary interest. As a child, she didn’t play Cowpeople and Indians. She played Ponies on the Playground. Guess who got to be the pony. “In rope”

In terms of Service to The Community, prairie has been at the sign-in table at the 4th Friday munch since 2002.  She has been active in the restraint/bondage/rope SIG, DFW Bound, since its beginning in 2005. And, she has served on the NLA-Dallas Executive Committee and is the Workshop Coordinator for Beyond Vanilla 18.

Basic Rope

Are you curious about rope but intimidated by all the terminology and knots?  Let these three experienced Rope Tops help get you started.  If you can tie your shoes you can securely tie up people!  Jake, prairie and Jackal will take turns demonstrating techniques that are useful, practical and safe.  Bring a little bit of rope with you because this is a hands-on format class!

Building Community:  Care and Feeding of Social Groups

Just because we are kinky doesn’t mean that we have stopped being social animals.  Much of what happens in the kink community goes on in social groups.  The success (or un-success) of those groups is dependent on the management skills and leadership of the people who are part of that group.  How well we operate as leaders sets not just the tone but the foundation and group cohesion of the people we participate with.

Leading the discussion will be 3 people who have experience with facilitating kinky groups.  They will talk about the history of their groups, what it takes to keep a group going, and their personal philosophy of community!  Come join them!
