Caro

For Caro, this all started in the mid 70s in New York City, where she first became enthralled by the sight of thousands of Leathermen lining West Streets. In those “early days” in NYC, Caro was part of TES, and could frequently be found at Hellfire.  In the late 1980s she moved to SF where she began teaching and speaking. Since then she has taught classes at local and national events such as LLC, IMsL, CLAW, Beyond Vanilla, Tribal Fire, TES, Threshold, NJ Leather Weekend, Heart of America, and Leather Pride in Ottawa- Outaouais Canada. She has also been a keynote speaker at various events such as Raven’s Ball and Florida Fetish Weekend.   She is a frequent judge at Leather events.  The most recent contests that Caro has judged include Mr/Ms. Olympus and Mr/Ms Ottawa Olympus. In addition to teaching, her community involvement includes being a member of Mama’s Family, (Mama’s Tyrannosaurs Regina) and serving on the Executive Board of the National Leather Association International. In addition, she was also one of the founders of the Philadelphia NLA-I chapter that sponsored her when she competed and won Ms. Olympus Leather 2005. She was also honored to be the recipient of the Pantheon of Leather, President’s Choice Award in 2007.  Caro is a writer and published author (having written one of the first articles about AIDS in 1981) and is working on completing her book, “Confessions of a Menopausal Fag Hag,” a section of which will be devoted to how honored and awestruck she was to have been selected to judge IML30.
